Prayer and Praise

  • We praise and thank God that Roxie Van Roekel is home! Please pray that her recovery continues to go well and there are no complications.
  • Thank you to Josh & Marissa Mouw and Colin & Aubrey for their Advent Candle-lighting and Reading this morning!
  • Please keep Clarella Van Marel and Family in your prayers after the passing of Alvin. May the Lord wrap them in compassion and healing in this difficult time


  • Please, if you are not feeling well or have been knowingly exposed to someone with Covid-19 in the past 14 days, you must not come to church and need to stay home.Masks are strongly encouraged to be worn by everyone. If you do not have a mask, one can be provided.
  • Next week Sunday, December 13th is the Third Week of Advent. We welcome back Rev. Dr. John Hartog III and thank him for leading our worship service.
  • Next week we will be celebrating the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. Please spend some time examining yourself in light of who Jesus Christ is and in confession and reflection.

  • Secret Sisters!! It is time for our reveal!! We will be having a gathering this Wednesday evening Dec 9th at 7 pm in the fellowship basement. Everyone who participated in this ministry this past year, please join us for an evening of fun & games, sweet treats and to find out who was your Secret Sister! If you have any questions, please visit with Teresa. Social distancing and other safety precautions will be followed.
  • The Consistory meeting will be held on Thurs Dec 10 at 8 pm. The Elders’/Deacons’ meetings are held at 7 pm. The Book of Church Order requires publication of the names of the newly selected officers – Elders Jeff Neuman & Les Starkenburg and Deacon Josh Mouw. If anyone has a scriptural reason why they should not be installed in their respective offices, please speak with one of the elders.
  • Mid-Sioux Opportunity LIHEAP – Applications are being received for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program which may be able to help pay your winter heating bill. Due to Covid-19 they will only be taking applications by phone, mail or on-line. You can call the Sioux County office at 712-722-3611 or go on-line to for more information. Applicants eligible for an award will be paid on a first come-first served basis, and all payments are subject to availability of funds.
  • Inspiration Hills Christmas Fundraiser – December 18th & 19th Inspiration Hills will be hosting their Christmas Fundraiser with baked goods, fresh baked breads, prepared meals and frozen soups to go! Place your order by December 11th by visiting the website or calling 712-986-5193!
